Agriculture Science and Technology Program

Long Creek School District hired Mr. Eugene, “Gene” Russell in 2008 to create an Agriculture Science and Technology Program. During the past two years, Mr. Russell, his students and community members have made some tremendous progress with hard work and  well, hard work. As you browse through the photos, you will see that the school now has an operating greenhouse, a garden with compost bins and cold frames and an egg production project, including a movable coop called a chicken tractor. Students also have the opportunity to earn money while earning credit through a grant with the local Training and Employment Consortium. And finally, just this year, Mr. Russell was able to get Long Creek’s FFA Charter reinstated!

Mr. Russell thanks the many folks who have donated time, money and materials to this nascent program.
