The Long Creek School Board meets on the second Tuesday of every month at 7:00 pm in the Long Creek School Library. District citizens frequently attend board meetings and participate happily in discussion when invited by the Board Chairperson. Board members are elected alternate years and serve four year terms. There are no election zones for board members, although they must reside within the school district. Board members may run for reelection as often as they wish.

Andy Wilburn

(541) 421-3230
Andy Wilburn has lived in the Long Creek School District for 31 years. He was born in John Day and grew up ranching with his family. His educational background in ranch management and business prepared him well for his work which is ranching and real estate brokerage. He is a partner in Wilburn Ranch Brokerage and Wilburn Ranches. Andy went to school at Long Creek School. He decided to serve on the Long Creek School Board because he loves the kids and wants them to have every opportunity and more that can be provided. He wants to see local kids succeed in life and in business and provide them with the tools to do so. Andy’s advice to kids: “be honest and have integrity in whatever you do.”

Cindy Wilburn
(541) 421-5300
Cindy Wilburn has lived in the Long Creek School District for 38 years. She feels God brought her and her husband to Long Creek to ranch and raise their family. She works with her husband and son in both their ranch and real estate businesses. Cindy has a BA and a teaching certificate and has taught school in the past. She currently has her hands full as a helpmate to her husband and a school board member. She decided to run for school board because she felt the school was headed in the wrong direction and she was eager to help turn that around. The Wilburn children grew up through the Long Creek School and now her grandchildren are. So, she has a deep seated interest in seeing that the school is well run and has a very positive impact on all of the Long creek kids. Because Long Creek is small, it plays a huge part not only in the survival of the town, but in the quality of everyone’s life. Cindy’s advice to kids: “It is not what you are or what you have, but who you are inside. Strive for the eternal, not the temporal.”
